How It All Started?

2021…

RoarMinerals was founded in December 2021 in Lincoln, driven by a lifelong passion for dinosaur bones, crystals, minerals, and fossils. The concept for RoarMinerals began to take form, starting with a single bedside drawer filled with artifacts showcased on Etsy and Facebook marketplace. Initially, our inventory consisted of just a limited selection of crystals and ammonites. We were uncertain about what to choose or whether it would sell.

2022 - 2023…

This was the beginning of our exploration into attending small events, such as craft fairs and pop-up markets, in and around Lincolnshire. During this time, we met Jodie from Lincolnshire Makers, who was also starting her journey with her events business on June 26th 2022. The event was a great success, and it became clear that this could evolve into something bigger than we both anticipated. We attribute much of our success to Jodie, who played a vital role in our growth at her events. Her events were incredibly successful and provided significant support to our business during challenging times at other events.
We got the first concepts of our brand later this year, an image that customers could recognize, we have some of the early designs attracted below. 

But we found our way.

The previous RoarMinerals logo, which we have since updated to create our current design.


Given the rising costs associated with maintaining our Etsy store, we had made the strategic decision to transition away from that platform. Instead, we focus on building our own dedicated website, which will allow us greater flexibility and control over our brand. Additionally, we started to enhance our presence on various social media platforms to better connect with our customers and share our products.

2024…

In 2023, RoarMinerals took a significant step forward by participating in larger events and festivals, including well-known gatherings such as Latitude, Carfest, and the Lincolnshire Show. This marked a major milestone for us, as we were venturing into a new and more expansive arena. The decision to attend these events was accompanied by considerable financial implications, as the costs associated with them were greater than any we had previously encountered. Despite the financial challenges, our experiences at these festivals were invaluable. We encountered a mix of phenomenal events that exceeded our expectations and some that did not go as well as we had hoped. However, through these diverse experiences, we gradually began to identify and understand our target market more effectively. As we navigated the highs and lows of these events, it became clear that we were on the right path toward establishing our brand in a broader context. This year has been a transformative journey for RoarMinerals as we continue to learn, adapt, and grow in this competitive landscape. 

2025…

Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury is our largest Event to date: which attracted over 200,000 attendees. We brought all of Roarminerals' stock to meet the demand at our stall (see photo below), which was open from 8 AM until 3 AM on the final day. It was a hectic and incredibly busy event for us. We can't wait to return, even bigger and better than before!
